Super Bowl 2018 prop bet: Pink’s national anthem performance goes UNDER 2:00

Award-winning singer Pink performed her rendition of the national anthem to open Super Bowl 52. Sportsbooks offered a chance to bet on the over/under for the performance, with the total time set at two minutes exactly.

Pink ended up going UNDER, with a time of 1:52. She is dealing with the flu, and one has to wonder if that impacted her performance.

The Jaguars’ upset win over the Broncos — a team that owned the Pats in the 1990s — cleared the path for New England’s second Super Bowl appearance. Despite a spirited effort, Desmond Howard’s back-breaking, 99-yard kickoff return proved to be too much for Drew Bledsoe and New England to overcome, giving Brett Favre his first — and only — Super Bowl ring.

Watching the Eagles dispatch the Patriots in the Super Bowl, I guess I should have felt schadenfreude or unbridled delight over the Patriots losing, especially since I live in New England. Mostly, though, I was pissed.

“He’s day-to-day and we’ll know more about the day-to-day tomorrow,” Maple Leafs coach Mike Babcock said Friday after the team practice. “He’s going to be out for a bit anyway, so it’s an opportunity to see Willy (Nylander) or (Patrick) Marleau or whoever will play in the middle or someone else. We have guys on the (American Hockey League) Marlies dying for an opportunity too. We’ll sort it out as we go.”

This is the third time Matthews, who leads the Maple Leafs in scoring with 28 goals and 22 assists, has been injured this season. A suspected lower-back injury and a concussion sidelined him a total of 10 games. The Maple Leafs are 6-4 without Matthews.

“It’s sports; (injuries) are all part of the business,” Babcock said. “You get to work, get back as fast as you can. He’s a passionate guy who wants to play. I’m not very concerned about him, he’s fine.”jaguars_094-223x223
